A Legacy Rooted in Nature
Our story begins with Shri N.D. Bachkheti, one of the most respected officers of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), who served as Inspector General of Forests under the Government of India.
He wasn’t just working with forests. He was protecting them, understanding them, and building meaningful connections with wildlife and conservation efforts across the world.
Growing up around this legacy changed how we looked at wood forever. To us, wood was never just a material — it became responsibility, craftsmanship, and respect.

Delhi Zoo, the first zoo in India, was among the visionary contributions associated with our family’s forestry and conservation legacy. That same respect for nature continues to guide Garnus today.

Mrs. Kavita Bachkheti leads Vitaan Enterprises, the company behind Garnus India, with a sharp business vision and a deep respect for the family’s woodworking heritage.
Her role is to ensure Garnus grows as a modern lifestyle brand while staying rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and authenticity.
She brings structure to craftsmanship and clarity to creativity — ensuring Garnus evolves without losing its soul.
